High up on the hill, above the mist, sits a short and simple tower. It's a beautiful hill for stargazing, but for those who can make it inside, they can see, and understand, the stars a little better than most.

On the first floor are tomes upon tomes of star charts, diligently kept over the years. The balcony out back provides an unobstructed view of the sky, distant mountains disappearing in the fading light. But the real prize is further up on the second floor. Up there sits a giant telescope, ever facing north, waiting for the sun to set and its work to begin.

The heavy wooden doors open to reveal a grand room full of light and nature. White marble floors reflect light from the skylights on the vaulted ceiling, where it's not being blocked by large trees that have been grown indoors. Specimens of flora and fungi alike are kept on walls, tables, and even the book cases themselves. The library is in a bit of disarray, with shelves in not-quite-perfect rows and acid marks on the tables, chairs haphazardly placed around them and books left by shelves on the floor, but it all echoes the organic structures around you.

Towards the back there are metal lattice walls with shelves of plant samples and potted starters. Upon closer inspection, these walls house a separate area: a gated room with unusually colored leaves and more books and scrolls.

Who knows why they're all locked away?

A large wooden building, clearly hand made, but impressive in its exterior complexity, sits on a patch of earth threatened to be drowned by the surrounding swamp. The top half is bulkier than the bottom, with multiple windows and overhangs resting across the irregular shape of the nearly windowless ground floor. A single staircase, rickety but cared for, ascends to the only entrance, nearly fifteen feet up on the top floor.  Whatever is below seems to only be accessible from the inside.

From further away, the keep didn't seem run down. It was only during the final approach that the cracks in the walls and the collapsed roof could be seen. Up the last hills and over a stone bridge was it finally apparent that no one lived there with the front door hanging off its hinges like that. Unless... Well, no matter the case, with the cliff crumbling, the waters below would claim the building sooner or later.
